On Friday November 18, 2022, our business hours are changing to 12pm - 5pm in order to allow for some electrical repairs in our showroom. We are looking forward to enjoying a brighter shopping experience now that the sun sets a bit earlier now, especially on Thursdays when our business hours are 9am - 7pm. This will allow for a more comfortable setting for our patients and our opticians.
While our showroom will be closed for the first half of the day, please know that if you need to pick anything up or come in for repairs, you are still welcome to do so. We just ask that you please come through the lobby of Palo Alto Eye Group directly next door to us and we will assist you in the lobby. For your safety, we ask that you please stay in the lobby and do not pop into Lux so that our electricians can complete their work without unsafe interruptions.
Thank you so much for your understanding!

Sunglasses are just as necessary during the winter as they are for the summer. Yes you heard right! Winter requires you to wear your sunglasses too! Why do we want to protect our eyes from the sun? Cataracts, cornea sunburns, and macular degeneration are all risks if your eyes aren’t protected from the harsh glare of the sun. Exposure to the sun can increase the risk of vision problems by causing dry eyes, snow blindness, or snow glare. It is known that a lot of skiers and snowboarders are prone to these underlying conditions.
You may know Silhouette as minimalist. Great if you're looking for eyewear that doesn't distract from the face or your overall appearance. Some may even say rimless frames "age" a person. WRONG! Silhouette brings retro, minimal, architectural like shapes in stylish and trend setting new styles.
Look, I've been an optician for nine years and I've seen trends come and go. The one constant has been rimless. The idea that you have a lens with zero frame, really opens up the possibilities to be super creative and original with your style.
Why play though, when the shape already rocks? Small is back and here's why you should go out and get yourself a pair!

Palo Alto, meet Claudio Arena. Claudio is our representative for Bevel Specs, a line of high end independent eyewear that specializes in petite faces and features bold, rich colors. It's been my pleasure to work with Claudio and Bevel over the last five years, first in San Francisco, and now here at Lux Eyewear. As a colleague, but also as a friend, I'd like to say, there aren't enough people like Claudio: genuine, passionate and dedicated to the kind of quality in product and service that our clients have come to expect.
