Dansharian is the new exclusive collection created by Danshari and designed by the innovative genius Alain Miklitarian, better known as Alain Mikli. The french designer with Armenian roots is finally embracing again his first love after having sold its eyewear brand to Luxottica in 2012.
Danshari is a Made in Japan brand created by Giuseppe La Boria in 2020, completely inspired by the Zen philosophy. It is characterized mainly by minimalism and essentiality, offering flexible and light frames, generous size and eye-catching timeless design.
The Dansharian collection could not but be a mix of Armenian culture, French design, Japanese technology, and Made in Italy manufacturing. Since the designer wanted to pay homage to his land, the colors used are inspired by Armenia’s culture, rocks and mountains. The names of the models recall some of Alain Miklitarian’s favorite places: e.g. GARNI is a small town with a Roman temple and basalt canyon, whilst TACHIR is the ancient royal city.
The line is composed by seven models, six optical, two of which are limited edition, and one sunglasses special edition. The materials used are classic with sculped volumes. Alain Miklitarian pays attention to details and plays a lot with colors and shapes without ever losing sight of his eyewear vision.
The real standout of this collection and world premiere is the FTS – Flat Temple System, which allows the perfect overlap of the temples emphasizing once again the concept of comfort in the eyewear industry.
Inspired by all the Armenian villages located between 1100 and 1900 meters of altitude, Alain Miklitarian tried to focus on the lightness and refinement of his homeland bringing these characteristics into the temples laminated acetate and titanium colored.
